It's Official: Dogs Screwed in Tuscaloosa.

The AJC has the story, with the SEC head of officals admitting that the shot clock violation called against the Dawgs in the waning moments was not, and that the official who inadvertantly whisteled play dead shouldn't have.

It's really cold comfort. As several players said after the game, it shouldn't come down to those things. Officiating didn't cost us this game, sloppy offensive play cost us this game. Again. I continue to believe that this team is improving, and that we have a chance to make and make some noise in the NCAA tournament, which is an unusual feeling for a UGA basketball fan. But we did let one get away on the road that could have really all but guaranteed us serious post-season consideration. Our young team looked like so many deer in the headlights in the final 5 minutes. It wasn't a game that anyone thought we would win, but that doesn't make it hurt any less.

The big question now is whether we can rebound for the next three deathmatch games we have coming up. We'll learn in the LSU game what these guys are really made of as we head down the homestretch of conference play.
